Parking Permits

PARKING PASSES WILL BE AVAILABLE TO ANY STUDENT WISHING TO DRIVE TO SCHOOL Students wishing to drive a vehicle to school and park in the school parking lot must have a parking permit.  If you have multiple vehicles you will need to transfer your permit between them. All cars and their license plates must be registered on your application form.
Students must have their driver’s license and vehicle plate number to fully fill out the form.  Street parking is available on nearby streets for those students that do not have a permit. Having a parking permit is a privilege.  Students with attendance or behavior issues may have their permit revoked.  If a student receives a detention, they must serve their detention in a timely manner as agreed upon by Administration or they may also have their permit revoked.  Excessive tardiness may result in having this permit revoked.  It may also be revoked by the School Resource Officer or Administration as deemed appropriate.

SCHOOL PARKING REGULATIONS

Parking at EHS is a privilege!  Parking is regulated with parking permit hang tags which must be hung on the rearview mirror. Parking is strictly limited to the student parking area (Schaefer St. lot or John St. lot).  The parking lot is patrolled so that vehicles belonging to our school community may be identified and to ensure that the parking lot is utilized safely.  Notify the office immediately if your permit is lost or stolen.  Replacement permits can be replaced for the full fee of $5. 1. All vehicles parked on school grounds must be registered with the school and must display the current permit which must be hung on the rearview mirror. It is your responsibility to move the hang tag if you are bringing another vehicle to school.  Be sure that all vehicles are registered with the school office. 2. If there are multiple student drivers of any vehicle all drivers must complete the parking permit application. 3. VISITORS ONLY permitted to park in the Emmers St. lot. Under no circumstances should students park in the visitor lot. 4. The school is not responsible for the vehicle or its contents. 5. There is to be no loitering in the parking lot and/or in vehicles. 6. There will be no speeding, over 15 miles an hour, or any form of reckless driving on the school grounds. 7. Student vehicles may be subject to search if there are reasonable grounds to believe that drugs, alcohol, stolen property or other contraband might be present in that vehicle. 8. Parking regulations are strictly enforced.  It is considered a privilege to park on school grounds.  Suspension of parking privileges may occur when violations of these regulations occur. 9. If the lot is full or you do not have a parking permit, street parking is available on nearby streets. Do not park in fire lanes or block sidewalks and driveways. 10. Vehicles without a permit could be ticketed by the Appleton Police Department.     Fines start at $20.00.  11. A student may lose the privilege of parking at Appleton East High School if, in the judgment of the administration and/or the School Resource Officer, parking lot behavior is inappropriate, reckless or in violation of school rules.  12. By applying for and receiving a permit, students/families/guardians fully understand their responsibility in following these rules.  Any questions contact Ms. Smedberg at 920-852-5400.
