Appleton East Hybrid Information for Families - January 2021

Appleton East Staff is looking forward to seeing hybrid students back in the building. There is a lot of information for students to know, but most importantly we want students to know where to go when they arrive their first day and we will support them from there. Below is some additional information that is important to know prior students arriving on their first day of in person learning (January 19th- AA Cohort and January 21st- BB Cohort - Wednesdays will remain virtual). 
 
Safety Information: We have been preparing the building for students to safely return.

Important Logistics:
   School Schedule:

We will continue the 20-21 school schedule linked here
          -
Monday 4, 3, 2, 1 & Tuesday 5, 8, 7, 6 - AA students in person, BB students virtual
          -
Wednesday - All students work virtually 
          -
Thursday 4, 3, 2, 1 & Friday 5, 8, 7, 6 - BB students in person, AA students virtual
     -
Google Meets will continue to be held at the start of each class hour for virtual students 
     -
Student support time: 
          -
8:15am-9:20am will be virtual. Students will sign up individually with teachers to meet during this time. 
          -
2:45pm-3:50pm can be in person or virtual. If students are meeting with their teachers in person, they will sign up on Flexisched.
     -
Please check IC for any schedule changes for Semester 2.

   -School Arrival: Students will enter the building through designated doors.
     -Freshman/Juniors - Park in John St, enter through Emmers St doors 
     -Sophomores/Seniors - Park in Schaefer St, enter through Schaefer St doors 
     -Students will be able to enter the building at 9:15am- please drop off as close to this time as possible to avoid large crowds of students outside
     -Students will report directly to their classrooms at the start of their school day
     -Students do not need to report to the building for your 4th, 5th, or 6th period lunch 
     -All students will attend Advisory/Lunch - students can either bring a lunch or order lunch through the Nutrislice App (more information to come on how to order)

   -School Dismissal: Students will be dismissed at 2:40 unless they are working with a teacher in person for student support time from 2:45-3:50pm

   -Student Supplies:
     -Masks and water bottles
     -Headphones or earbuds 
     -Charged Chromebook and charger

   -Student Belongings:
     -Students will carry a backpack with all their belongings
     -Students will not use a locker

   -Student Orientation - January 13th
     -Freshman Orientation Information
     -New Students (Sophomore, Junior, Senior): January 13th from 1:00-2:00 or 2:30-3:30pm

*Please make sure you know whether your student is in the AA Cohort (Mon/Tues), BB Cohort (Thurs/Fri), or “Virtual Only” prior to January 19th. You can also see which cohort your student is in by looking on Infinite Campus.
