Athletic Awards

The Activities Department of Appleton Area Schools recognizes the importance of extra-curricular activities in a student’s high school career. It is the belief of the Activities Department that student achievement should be recognized through athletic awards.

All Appleton Area Schools Athletic Awards are earned only by participation in athletics sanctioned by and under the sponsorship of the Appleton Area Public Schools. Appleton Area Schools Athletic Awards may not be earned for participation, membership, or achievement in activities sponsored by non-school organizations (i.e., scouts, churches, religious or social groups, service clubs, etc.)

Numerals Of Graduation Year
Awarded to any athlete participating for the first time in school sanctioned athletics.

School Logo Patch
Awarded to all sophomores for the first sport they are in that year, or beyond that year if it is the first sport they are in.

Certificate of Participation
Awarded to any high school participant who does not earn a letter and has already received their numerals and logo patch.

Letter “A”, Letter Certificate
Awarded to a varsity participant who meets the criteria in that activity. After the “A” is awarded, a letter certificate for each additional varsity letter earned will be awarded. They also earn an insert of the sport they lettered in.

All Conference
A certificate is awarded to athletes earning All Conference selection.

Conference, Regional, Sectional, State Titles
The team may provide medals to the varsity squad to commemorate the victory.

State Title
The Head Coach and Activities Director will meet to determine if any additional awards will be given, and what they will be.
