Additional Course Opportunities

Classroom to Career

Classroom to Career is a strategy to strengthen opportunities for students to connect with local businesses to raise student awareness and prepare them for their future employment.

Traditionally determining college and career readiness has focused on course work grades and test results. As a school district we have worked to identify additional indicators of a student’s readiness for post-high school course work and the world of work.

It is our intention to develop opportunities for our students to get direct involvement with our businesses and community both in and out of the classroom.

Cooperative Academic Partnership Program (CAPP)

Enrolling in the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Cooperative Academic Partnership Program (CAPP) courses is a convenient and affordable way for high school students to earn concurrent high school and college credit while developing key skills for future success.

In CAPP courses students experience the challenge of college curriculum while in a high school environment, which:

  • sets them apart from other college applicants
  • gives them the opportunity to register earlier
  • allows them to explore a variety of options while in college
  • provides them a chance to double major and graduate on time
  • lessens their course load
  • helps them graduate early

K-12 and Postsecondary Courses Taken from Outside the District Curriculum

The review of high school credits will be conducted by the Chief Academic Officer (CAO) or an Assessment, Curriculum and Instruction (ACI) administrative-level designee. They will have the task of reviewing applications for courses not previously failed to determine if the self-paid or academic course(s) completed outside the District are eligible for high school credit in required content areas, are eligible for elective credits, or are not appropriate for acceptance of credit toward graduation.
