Graduation Information

The graduation ceremony for seniors will be held on Thursday, June 6th at 6:30 P.M. in the Appleton East gymnasium. As graduation is traditionally a formal ceremony, there are expectations for this event.

Graduating seniors and their parents will be asked to sign an agreement form, which states the expectations formulated to ensure the formal nature of this ceremony. The ceremony is voluntary. Therefore, those who can comply with the expectations will sign and return the agreement. Students who do not wish to participate can pick up their diplomas in the school office at a later date.

For the ceremony, appropriate apparel for graduating senior men includes dress slacks (non-denim), dress shoes (not tennis shoes or sandals), socks and dress shirt with a collar under their graduation gowns. Apparel for graduating senior women includes an appropriate dress or blouse and skirt or slacks (non-denim), and dress shoes or sandals under their gowns. No flip flops.

Inappropriate distractions, both verbal and those that include cap decorations, noisemakers, balloons, liquid string, beach balls, toys, and toilet paper, will not be allowed. Family and friends in attendance are requested to make this a dignified and special event in the lives of our seniors.

Graduating seniors and their parents will soon receive a letter along with the agreement, which will include specific information about tickets, times and dates for events related to graduation, and all other pertinent matters. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact Mr. Mineau or Mrs. Londo at the high school at 832-6212.

Graduation Cap and Gown
All seniors who plan to participate in the Thursday, June 6th ceremony should order a cap & gown. ALL STUDENTS will be wearing BLUE GOWNS. If you plan on using a sibling’s blue cap & gown, you will need to purchase a tassel and stole. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Londo at londodarlene@aasd.k12.wi.us or call the school office at 832-6212.

Tickets
Each graduating senior will receive four tickets for entrance to the ceremony. Seniors can sign up for two extra graduation tickets on April 8th during Advisory. If you need additional tickets you must sign up in your Advisory. If you still need additional tickets beyond the six, you must see Mrs. Londo in Advisory on Monday, April 15.

Special Seating
Due to our new stage in the gym taking up more floor space, we will no longer offer reserved special seating. We will have a limited number of chairs but it will be on a first come, first serve basis. Doors will open at 5:00 PM. Another option is sitting in the auditorium and watching the ceremony streamed live from the gym.

2019 Appleton East Post-Graduation Party

All graduating Appleton East seniors are invited to a Post-Graduation Party sponsored by the East Parents’ Association!

Riverview Gardens, 1101 S. Oneida St.

Enjoy a free, fun night with dinner provided by Stone Cellar, deejay, music and dancing, casino-style games, great prize giveaways, hypnotist and cash cube. This is an alcohol- and drug-free event.

Senior Parents, We are asking you to make a financial donation to help offset the cost of this event. This is important to have a safe and successful night. We will not ask for any other donations other than financial donations.

Please make your checks payable to Appleton East Post-Grad Party and send it to the office, marking the envelope with Post Grad. To be recognized in the East graduation program as a contributor, please submit your donations by May 6. Thank you in advance for your support!
