Transition to 4 daysHello East Families,
On April 5, the high schools will be expanding the in-person learning model option for students to four days. While combining the AA and BB cohorts of students will change our ability to physically distance students in classrooms and in the school building, all other mitigation practices will continue in the same manner.

Below is important information about the transition to four days a week of in-person learning. We ask that you please review the information below carefully prior to making your choice.

Safety Information
-It is essential that ALL families follow our student screening guidelines. Each morning, every student will need to be screened before they get on the bus or arrive at school
-Students must wear masks. If you do not have one, they are available at each entrance.
-Students will sanitize upon arrival and wipe down desks in each room.
-Please see information below about contact tracing.
  -Please view the following video:
-Here is a slide deck also sharing the information below:

-Students will attend in person Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday

-Student support times will continue to be available on a daily basis for students to receive assistance from their teachers.
-Students who require additional assistance will be scheduled into a student support time with their teacher(s).
-8:15am-9:20am Virtual Student Support Time - Students can schedule a time with their teacher(s) and/or be required by their teacher to meet with them
-2:45pm-3:50pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - In-person sign up on Flexisched
-12:30-3:50pm  Wednesday - In-person sign up on Flexisched

-Attendance Expectations for In-Person:  Students will be expected to attend in-person per the schedule.  Attendance will be taken by your teacher if you are in-person.  If a student is not able to attend in person they are expected to notify the school office.
-Attendance Expectations for Virtual:  Students will be expected to sign in for attendance on IC

Class Size and Contact Tracing
-AA and BB cohorts will be combined to create one class - this may double the number of students in a classroom.
-Students will be in pods to provide the best opportunity to physically distance. If a classmate in a pod tests positive for COVID, the entire pod will need to quarantine. Families will be contacted by a trained contact tracer if they are considered a close contact.
-If a student is identified as a close contact, the student will need to move to virtual instruction for 14 days from the point of contact with the COVID-positive individual (regardless of a negative COVID test).

School Arrival
-Students will enter the building through designated doors.
-Freshman/Juniors - Park in John St, enter through Emmers St doors
-Sophomores/Seniors - Park in Schaefer St, enter through Schaefer St doors
-Students will be able to enter the building at 9:15 am- please drop off as close to this time as possible to avoid large crowds of students outside
-Students will report directly to their classrooms at the start of their school day
-Students do not need to report to the building for 4th, 5th, or 6th period lunch
-All students will attend Advisory/Lunch - students can either bring a lunch or order lunch through the Nutrislice App

School Dismissal
-Students will be dismissed at 2:40 unless they are attending a student support time with a staff member from 2:45-3:50

Student Supplies
  -Masks and water bottles
  -Headphones or earbuds
  -Charged Chromebook and charger

Student Belongings
-Students will carry a backpack with all their belongings
-Students will not be assigned a locker unless approved by administration

We continue to be dedicated to both your child’s learning needs and their personal health. We will continue to work hard at both and partner with you in this process.  As always, thank you for your commitment and continued support of East High School.  Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
We look forward to April 5th. #WeArEast & Go Patriots!
